The Old Library Café

The Old Library Cafe is shaped by the community for the community. We serve delicious and healthy vegetarian lunches, moreish cakes and the perfect coffee.

Our café is run by Beth and Shannon with the support of a small team of volunteers, who range from college students to retirees. All the soups, quiches, rolls and cakes are made in our kitchen using produce from our garden wherever possible.

The menu is kept small to reduce waste and also to allow it to be prepared by our small but dedicated team. We keep the cafe prices low to make it accessible to as many people as possible. We are trialing a Pay What You Feel approach to create a level playing field for everyone to connect with others. Any profit we make are reinvested back into intoBodmin.

Alongside the food and drink, there is a mix of free and paid creative and wellbeing activities happening in the cafe and reading room for you to take part in. This is a space for everyone! Tell us what you'd like to see here!

Everyone can expect a warm welcome: families with young children, tourists and our regulars. We look forward to seeing you soon!

You may want to pay what you’d normally expect to in a cafe, you may pay what you can afford, you may not pay anything or you may pay more. The cafe is here to serve the whole community and to support those who need coffee, cake and a chat.

Whatever you decide is fine by us, so long as you help us spread the word and encourage others to come and enjoy The Old Library Cafe.
