intoChange exists because people kept asking how we did what we did.

Over the past eight years, intoBodmin has built a community cultural organisation from a pop-up question in a town centre. We've raised capital, restored a historic civic building, grown a cultural programme, navigated funding cycles, managed partnerships, supported volunteers and helped shape local conversations about the future of a place that had been overlooked for too long.

People started asking if we could help them do something similar. intoChange is the answer to that question.

Who leads the work

intoChange is led by Fin Irwin, founder and co-director of intoBodmin and author of the Field Guide.

Fin has spent nearly a decade working at the intersection of community development, cultural infrastructure and place-based change - first in Exeter, then Bodmin and increasingly across Cornwall and beyond. He sits on six boards and committees, has raised significant funding for community-led projects, and writes and speaks regularly about civic life, regeneration and the conditions that allow communities to change.

The work is practical, accessible and grounded in real experience. Not in theory.

What we believe

Culture is not an add-on to community life. It is the everyday infrastructure of belonging — the shared spaces, stories and experiences that help communities understand themselves, connect with each other and find the confidence to act.

How we work

We don't arrive with fixed answers. We design processes that help people think clearly, act together and build momentum. We're honest about complexity, direct about what we see, and practical about what comes next.

We work with councils, community organisations, cultural partnerships and local authorities — at the point where something needs to shift.
