Volunteer with us
Our volunteers play a huge part in making things happen and intoBodmin a success, whilst it can provide a sense of community and belonging.
And there is so much you can gain from the experience; a chance to meet and interact with new people, an opportunity to learn, for example, barista skills, cooking, teamwork, improving language skills, and customer service.
Do you have a skill to share?
What our volunteers say...
Another evening sat by the fire watching TV? Not for me thanks. I'd rather be volunteering with intoBodmin as part of the events team.
In return for my time (as little or as much as I'm happy to give) I get a warm welcome and get to see exciting live bands, stimulating theatre, jazzy jazz, thought provoking spoken word, comedy and witness rising local talent. Such a mixed bag of entertainment and totally free as a volunteer!!!
So happy to be part of this hard working team bringing the community together.
There’s such a warm and welcoming environment within the intoBodmin team - familiar faces, and caring people create those family ‘feels’ that is rare to come by!
What we can offer
-
Food and a drink if you’re volunteering a shift in the cafe
-
25% discount for food and drink in the cafe and our our events when not volunteering
-
Training which could include a qualification if relevant to your role
Current opportunities
Join the events crew!
Help run some evening and occasionally day-time performances in a wide variety of the arts such as dance, theatre, music and spoken word. It's a great way to gain new experiences and meet new people. The role is simply to help greet customers or serving drinks on the bar.
Join the cafe crew!
We have regular weekly volunteer opportunities either front of house, helping serve customers, making coffees and serving cakes, or helping prepare and serve food in the kitchen. It's a great way to gain valuable experience and build your confidence in the work place or just putting something back into your community.
If our current opportunities don't fit, we liked to hear what you would like to do. We have volunteers with all levels of skills, to help with all kinds of different things that go into making intoBodmin's work happen.
As well as the event and cafe volunteer roles we also have a growing group of volunteers who want to give their skills and time for free such as plumbing, DIY, signwriting, baking cakes, social media and helping run kids craft sessions —so whatever your interests have a chat with us and we will see if we can match it up to a volunteer opportunity.

You can hire a community space here, or join our co-working space upstairs.
We host events, group meet-ups and regular activities, that are inclusive and nurture connections to enrich people’s lives in Bodmin.
As a community interest company, intoBodmin generates revenue to sustain our vision of a culturally
enriched Bodmin, where inclusivity and culture are accessible to everyone.

Check out our list of projects
For all those people who like a project, this one is for you!
Another great way to help is to check out the current projects we've got going, and see if there's anything you would like to get stuck in to. Whether it's helping our café or front of house, or getting involved in one of the group projects - there are lots of community-minded activities happening all the time, and we'd love to have you on board.
The projects list is a rough guide of things we've got on the go - we also have many more smaller projects up our sleeves! Or – how about suggesting your own project?
Got an idea?
If you've got an idea for a club, group, activity or project that you'd like to be a part of or bring into reality, we'd love to hear from you.
We're always looking to develop projects and activites that support our brilliant town and communities, so whether you want to set up a new group or find a new space for your existing club or group - we want to hear about it!
